Over the summer a music promotions company in New York found my blog and reached out to me to see if I’d be interested in reviewing some of the music they promote. Absolutely! What a great opportunity to try out some new music that I might not otherwise be able to hear.
These are the albums I’ve written about so far, have you listened to any of these?
The 442s (2014) – An eclectic mix of Jazz, Roots, blue grass – all played by jazz and classical musicians!
Nicola Benedetti – Homecoming: A Scottish Fantasy – Violin music from Scotland
Maya Beiser – Uncovered – Some gritty remakes of well-loved classical rock tunes – on a cello!
Peter Boyer – Symphony No. 1 – What an amazing debut symphony.
Break of Reality – Ten – Original tunes by a self-described cello rock band.
Anne Akiko Meyers – The American Masters – Violin concertos by Barber, Bates
Milos: Aranjuez – Classical Guitar
Philippe Quint – Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto and Arensky String Quartet
Red Hot + Bach – Love J.S. Bach? Check out this compilation of “re-imaginations” of his works.
Richard Reed Parry: Music for Heart and Breath – New music by a young, classical composer out of Ottawa. Funky, yet very enjoyable.
Time For Three (2014) – An amazingly awesome string trio, though I think they just call themselves a string trio.
